Introduction of Japan









Where is Japan?

Japan lies to the east of the Asian continent, and consists of Hokkaido, Honshu (mainland), Shikoku, Kyushu, and about 3,000 smaller islands. The land is fertile and mostly covered with green. Climate is generally warm throughout a year, and there are four seasons changing every three months; spring (March to May), summer (June to August), autumn (September to November), and winter (December to February). People live and enjoy those tour seasonal changes.








How big is Japan?

Japan covers an area of about 378,000 square kilometres. It is often called that Japan is small country, but It is 3,500 kilometres long from north to south. Four-fifths of the area of Japan is composed of mountains, with a chain of mountains running through each of the main islands. We can see colorful change of landscape because of the different climate. Japan is almost as big as United Kingdom or Germany. Thailand is 1.36 times bigger than Japan.
